Mallorca Cathedral

His real name is The Cathedral - Basilica of Santa María of  Palma de Mallorca or "La Seu".


Mallorca Cathedral has been awarded rightly variois titles:

-Cathedral of the sea, as its shore bathes his feet.

-Cathedral of space, since it is the Gothic temple with less stone houses more interior space.

-Cathedral of the Eucharist, since the apses of three ships togethercreate the world's largest triptych on the Eucharistic mystery.

-Cathedral light, since the Mediterranean light falls squarely on it.



 The Cathedral was begun by the front, around the year 1300, on the site of the Arabian mosque of Madina Mayurga, which was demolishing as they advanced the works of the new building, until it ended being torn down in 1386.

 The first project architect was "Ponç des Coll", who began bulding the chapel of "La Trinitat".
